As a volunteer run organisation, we will be shutting down over Christmas and New Year.
Our last day for 2015 will be Sunday 20th December. We will re-open again on Sunday 10th January.
Have a terrific summer break full of cycling and bike love and we will see you all again in 2016!
Comments Off on Sunday’s Bike Sale
The Bike Sale organised by Auckland Transport on Sunday 22/Nov was well covered by Tumeke volunteers. Finlay, Sanna, Andrew, Alex R, Mark, Alex M & Emilio were all there, selling bikes that had been donated and fixed up, talking to people about Tumeke, and dispensing advice.
Mark managed to sell his old Cannondale, Mort sold his even older De Ver and Andrew sold some ex-recycling centre bikes. My favourite thing there was an ancient Dutch (I think) road bike called ‘Fongers’ – it had a very unusual S-shaped fork, which the owner eventually admitted was both bent, and on backwards.
The 1 – 3pm Tumeke shift was busy, partly with people cleaning up their recently purchased steeds.
